Dr. Colcord has been an educator for 20 years. He started as a mild to moderate special education resource teacher and also taught as a moderate to severe teacher in an autism focus classroom. He has experience teaching at the college level.
Dr. Colcord has experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to write individualized education programs, individualized family service plans, behavior intervention plans, functional assessments and knows how to help parents get the results they want from public school districts.
Dr. Colcord has also worked delivering home-based one on one instruction, Zoom based remote instruction, behavior interventions, parent training and social skills training. He has experience conducting behavior based and academic evaluations and understands the needs of families who have children with special needs.
Dr. Colcord has a bachelor’s degree in special and elementary education, a master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction with a focus on special education. He holds a clear mild to moderate education specialist credential and a clear multiple subject credential.
